If you had to take just one knife... what type would it be?

If we are talking weekend camping, then a good multitool hands down. If bugging out, I would have to grab a small machete. I just can't imagine only having one knife though.

rambo knife with flint/magnesium stick in the handle.  if a knife doesnt strike fear into the eyes of an enemy, what good is it?  like croc. dundee says.....
 
This is my everyday knife. I don't get dressed without it. I also carry a small diamond sharpener in the same pocket. They are deadly sharp but don't hold an edge very well. Locking blade 3.25". How do you live without tweezers and a tooth pick? I also carry a needle in with the tweezers.

i currently carry downrange my gerber applegate combat folder. it is a big strong knife. i have also carried the crkt desert cruiser which personnaly has been my all time favorite. i have several stored around the house and in vehicles. they keep sharp and you can shave with them. in my "SHTF go bag" i have a gerber and a 3.5" fixxed blade knife that is probably 1/4 thick. i think i could cut a car in half with it.
 
Pat the old K bar is a great knife that has been around a long time and proved itself many times.  I carried one for years either on my gear or in my pack when they didnt want you having a knIfe anymore.

I was deleting old emails and saw this and thought Id add some more to my above statement ;)

I still am a loyal fan to the Bowie as I have a Handmade (not by me) replica "Beatrice" that Im quite proud of and have heard from many they are the Master Survival Knife. Probably the fan base is skewered considering how long this knife has been around !

That being said.... I just got these "Tom & Jerry" Dave Beck WSK and since they are a single holster item, I feel they should count as one ! Jerry takes care of skinning & maneuverability issues and Tom is ferocious !
