Need help designing decal for my Brother In Law ( Mine Dog Handler )

Hey everyone first time posting here on the military section, first off thank you to the Vets and the guys and girls that are active duty!  My brother in law john just got home from Afghanistan again and I would like to create an awesome decal for him but need some help. I have no clue where to start. I asked him if he wanted one and he said sure but he hasn't given me any help and he lives out of state. I have the equipment to make decals just need ideas and help from other military people to make this thing badd ass! I want to do like a big shield of some sort showing his accomplishments in the war. Let me know who is in
