Our local paper said they had an explosion on one of the pumpkin chunkers and some people got hurt.     Hope you weren't in on that.
I 've seen this on Discovery Channel and always thought it would be fun to go to.

Saw something about that earlier.  May the injured recover quickly and completely.  If not for people getting hurt that would almost be funny.

Friend of mine just dropped 12 tree's in his yard & said take what you want. Free wood is GOOD! He has a pellet stove so...no need.
Got 4 loads today with 5-6 to go (it's less than 2 miles away) - I'm set for this winter & next. 
Gonna have to hire a couple of high school kids to help me split & stack it all - ain't young as I was

I went to Valdese today on a site walk. a tower on Barus St (outside of town) and had company the entire time:::




He wanted to play the whole time I was trying to work.  Probably cost me 30 minutes or more.  He kept picking up a rock the size of a softball and bringing it to me to throw for him.
no worries, he was obviously well cared for.  well fed, recently bathed etc...

We were not at punkin chunkin on Sunday but I did hear about the injured. She is in critical condition from what I read. A door blew off the cannon and hit her in the head. They say it was the size of a car door. It is a shame because this is the first year back after one of the field spotters was injured. They used ATVs then and he crashed and sued even though he was drunk. This may be it for the event. Jim
