Fuel Pump options

I need a few pumps and my local yard is punching tanks and ruining pumps.  How about a pump from another modle.  Most pumps are now suspended from a short rubber line.  All are 12v and most Mitsubishi based injection systems supply a similar fuel PSI.

How about just dropping in any old MPI pump in my 1994 16v tank.

what is the stock psi for 94"?  i have an 88' samurai with 91' samurai tbi and am currently running a 90-93 acura integra fuel pump.  as far as i remeber the tracker puts out the same.  the integra pump puts of 36 psi and what is required for my setup is 34-38 psi.  hope this helps if not let me know what psi your looking for and i can cross reference it.

I don't have the PSI numbers, but I believe the TBI & MPI pump will run either or application.  I think the fuel PSI regulator takes care of the finer pressure adjustment.

If I were guessing I'd say 39-45 psi...

34-40, 30-37, and 28-37 psi is what the document I have says is the range for trackick pumps (changes depending on year).
34-40 psi is what it lists for all EFI samurai pumps.
Like you said, if the fuel pressure would be a little high, I would also assume the regulator will "regulate" it.

Thanks for the specs  ;)

I think I recall squireling asway a Metro pump for just such an occation....    Now If I can just recall where I hid it.

I have used a trackick pump in place of a samurai pump and it works fine....so I would assume there are also other pumps out there that will interchange/work as well.

Hey Mike, here is what I have learned in my dealings with another vehicle. My local NAPA enlightened me on this; the fuel pumps between the MPI and TBI are the same. These pumps are the same as the one that is used in a EFI Festiva. [idea] I had him check carefully and he said that all three vehicles shared the same pump.

Here's the NAPA number #2P72165

The pump is built by Carter. I imagine that this pump is used in other vehicles, being that the sending unit in the Festiva is built by Mazda according to the sticker on the top of it. ;D I would imagine that certain Mazda vehicles have the same pump. ???

Dude, you are the man. [thumbsup]  I never go to their site, but this is good info. There's a ton of junked out Yota's near me in a yard. ;)  It's things like this that make getting more parts for your ride that much easier. ;)

ya know whats funny though? under Geo it doesn't list Tracker as an interchange for the Sidekick, NAPA is the same way on some parts. When I worked at Napa I would look up parts for a sidekick and it would say N?A then I would look up the same thing for a tracker and it would be something that we have in stock lol
