Dodge Magnum 3.5L Exhaust

Hi all,

In lieu of zuki stuff, I also attempt to keep my other cars up...

One is an '06 Magnum and recently started throwing codes related to the o2 sensors...

Replaced the ones in question and then it started throwing "Catalyst performance low" codes...

Well shoot...Here we go... [lol]

I kinda knew the passenger side manifold was cracked being I could hear a puff sound (Been this way for a while now) so I decided to replace both manifolds and get the "bolt on/direct fit" CA legal cats.

After digging in, found both manifolds were cracked  :o

Man, it is TIGHT in the engine bay and was a little tricky, but dropping the entire exhaust was the only way...

I also went ahead and added all new (4) o2 sensors just for fun...

Also, I have an RT (V8) cat back exhaust (on my V6 SXT) and had to use pipe reducers on the transition...(Did this mod many years ago).

Anyway, the transition was leaking so I added some "muffler tape" and cinched it down  ;D

Any how, here is some pics of my work this weekend.

'Nuff said, all is swapped out and in, just need my emissions widget to go green (in my Torque app/BT OBD reader) then I will be ready for SMOG this December  ::)

Nice going! Will inspection allow tape? Or is that just for verification?

Either way good plan and those spaces do get tight.

I think anything "behind the cat" is OK...

They like to see that the cat is "welded in place" on the pipe and not bolt in...

We shall see in December  [thumbsup]

lol been there done that!

As you can see, factory cat + downpipe was bolted in with a band clamp, passed smog many times with that...

Should be fine with "direct fit" replacements  :police:
