Converting Stock A/C to On-Board Air

no not the best way to air up ur "lowrider". check into air-zenith compressors. they are fully rebuildable (unlike the cheap junk out there) and fills a tank from 0psi to 200psi in 7 minutes. and if u run a pressure switch on your tank it will kick on when ur air pressure falls to 165psi(or whatever ur switch is set to) and fill it back to 200psi in 2 minutes.   www.air-zenith.com is their website

Those look nice, but at $320.........I just cannot justify it for air once in a while. If I were going to be running an ARB, or something similar, I could see it. :)

Here's a system that I build back in '01 for my Samurai using components from my Air Conditioning system:

air-zenith 2.88 CFM

Converted AC compressor About 8 CFM at 2,000 rpm.

I have been running a converted Suzuki compressor on lil Suzy for years. Just put a cap full of good quality synthetic oil in the air intake every couple of months to keep it lubed.
