I figured i would put them in there own thread. These lj20s are in showroom condition and they have never been restored. They are all original with dealer stickers in the windows. The owner worked for a chevy dealer in 1972 to and kept two of them. The owner said they couldnt give them away in 1972.

When you say he couldn't give them away...do you mean he wasn't allowed to give them away, or that nobody wanted to buy them? I'm guessing the second one.

Great story behind these. Did he even ever drive them? I always find the story behind rigs really interesting, some of the history of these rigs is amazing.

Yes they were driven around for a few years but i didnt look at the mileage. He told me a story about the Tintop that he took it up to his house in P.A back in 72 and went wheeling with his wife and two adult friends piled in it which he said was comical putting four adults in a lj20. He said there was a bet going on about who could reach the top of the mountain for 200.00 per rig thrown into a pot. Then which ever rigs made it to the top they would split the money. Well most of the others were in what the lj owner stated to be big ole dodge power wagons with big ole tires and they laughed at his little zook. Long story short he said he ended up with 1800.00 dollars and no others made it to the top. But the funniest part was he said he paid 1800.00 for the tintop a few month before going to P.A

My dad still has the '72 he bought new that same year in Swannanoa NC. It still runs. I remember exploring the mountains and foothills in it growing up.

I met a guy out in Swannanoa a few years back that had 2 of them.  Seems like he had a body shop or something at his house.

Would love to drive one around town with the 2 stroke motor and an expansion chamber pipe !!!!

That would be so cool and fun !!!
