Warn Fuseable Hub Install


1]? ?First things first, open your package and check to see if you have all of the necessary parts. This includes the? ? ? ?following (fig.1 this is half of the package): 12 flat washers and lockwashers, 12 allen head cap screws, 2 hub caps, 2 hub cap gaskets, and 2 hub bodies. Additionally if you purchased a set of fuses you should have hub fuses.

2]? ?Lay out your tools. I used the tools listed: a 5/32 allen wrench, a 10mm socket, a 12mm socket (either a long socket or a regular one with a short extention), a nut driver (optional), and a pointy tool such as an ice pick or dental pick (or snapring plyers if you have them).

3]? ?Now loosen the 6 10mm hex bolts from the stock hub cap, and remove the cap. (figs. 2 and 3).

4]? ?Remove the 6 12mm hex head bolts from the hub body. Retain the bolts, but discard the lock cones. (figs. 4 and 5).

5]? ?Using a pointed object or snapring plyers remove the snapring from the axel shaft. (fig. 6).

6]? ?Tap the hub body lightly with a hammer to break it loose. Now remove the body and the old gasket. (fig. 7).

7]? ?(Do this step only if you bought the hub fuses) Remove the clutch from the warn hub body by removing thin retainer ring. Replace the clutch with the warn hub fuse, securing with the thin retainer ring. (fig.8).

8]? ?Slide the new hub body into place until the o-ring is seated. Now attach it with the 12mm bolts saved from earlier, lock washers and a flat washers. Torque to 18-25 ft.lb. (fig. 9).

9]? Place the cap with gasket onto the body, lineing up the index pin on the cap and the pin relief on the body (the hub dial must be in the unlocked position). Using the 5/32 allen wrench, secure the cap with the 6 allen head cap screws. (figs. 10 and 11).

10]? To check for proper instalment jack the front tire off of the ground, lock the hub and spin the tire. Your drive shaft should spin. Next unlock the hub and spin the tire once more. This time the drive shaft should not spin.

11]? Clean up and enjoy your new hubs!
