VW Diesel Engine Codes
Check these out before you buy. I got ripped when I bought what I thought was a turbo, only to discover later that is was a NA engine (engine code CR) with a turbo added.

Welcome suzukis dieseler's to Zuwharrie!

I just wanted to offer our services if anyone needs them. We finished the install of a 1991 Hydraulic Liftered 1.6 Turbo diesel into our 1986 Suzuki Samurai. We have about 4,000 miles on her now... and all is working great!

We did the entire project so we could have an alternatively fueled "green" 4x4 for searching down sweet single track for mountain biking on the Oregon Coast. She runs 100% biodiesel... less killing, and smells great!

We used the Acme adapter kit, and I just can't say enough good stuff about Acme. And hey, isn't that what Willy Coyote used to catch the Road Runner?

If I can answer any questions... just whistle!

Hey Ri I followed your build on yahoo .Nice build and nice pics.If Wiley Coyote had ACME from Jeff ,Roadrunner would no longer be with us!I am working on my own Zuk diesel.Just about finnished my 1.6 rebuild and almost got all my parts together.I sure picked up alot of usefull info from the guys on Yahoo and I hope to see them over here.Ciao for now.

Unfortunately, no. Any of the kit suppliers would be happy to ship, though.

Speaking of  kit suppliers, don't forget Rocky Road. They are in production with the original Axis Power kit. You can find specifics on their site at www.rocky-road.com.

Here is a source for remanufactured VW diesel engines. I am sure there are plenty more but thought I would post this if someone was looking for a remanufactured engine.

IDI performance website:

http://www.vwdiesel.net/phpBB/index.php

Scroll down a bit and you'll find "IDI Engine" it has a ton of mods. If you want to cut to the chase try the FAQ/Tech tips sections.

Hope this helps
