Carburated 1.6L 16v

A frined built this about 5 years ago.  I happened to run across it at a local mud bog 3 years later...

I don't have all the specifics but it is basically an aluminium box tig welded on to the intake.

I believe they are running a non 16v distributor and as I recall they had to cut and weld the distributor due to the change of direction between the two models.

It would seem to me that it would have been easier and produce more power if he would've just stuck with the EFI.

ive seen this post before but didnt notice the weber was mounted sideways alot of vw guys do this.if i remember right this was done when there wasnt alot of people doing these swaps like around 97 or sumthing .
