JOKE?  What the heck is that?

Yep.  You read that correctly.  Mark your calendars for the 2018 Jeep Owner Kamping Expedition, or JOKE.  The JOKE consists of kamping, cookering, shenanigans, kayaking, possibly a ride, and meeting other JO Jeeples.  Could be a cold brew somewhere in the mix.

When should you mark your calendar?  Now!, of course.  ;D  Ohhhh....you mean the dates?  Yes.  The JOKE is August 17 - 19 2018!

Where will it be?  The JOKE will be held at the Twin Rivers Family Campground.  The campground is located near coordinates 36.548568, -81.347143.  You may use this as a nav link:  https://goo.gl/maps/T2WFmXzfiqP2

August is a great time to be in the mountains.  Temps are usually moderate relative to other areas.  Likewise with the humidity.  The river is beautiful as well.  The area is filled with potential activities, though some may choose to never leave camp.

What do you need to bring?

Comfort item examples:
1. Sunglasses
2. Sunscreen.
3. Bug spray.
4. Asprin, Tylenol, etc...
5. Toiletries
6. Baby wipes
7. Camera
8. Bathing suits

Camping supplies:
1. Tent large enough to fit all that are coming with me.
2. Sleeping bags and pillows for all those that are in said tent!
3. Sleeping mat/Air matteress, The ground ain't soft!
4. Camp chairs, see above comment about the ground.
5. Firewood, What's camping without a camp fire?
6. Food.
7. A good cooler.
8. Beverages.
9. Clothes for a couple of days. To include extra socks and underwear.
10. A light jacket and a heavy jacket, Mother Nature can be unpredictable.
11. A couple of flashlights and fresh batteries that fit them!
12. Extra pair of shoes.
13. Shower supplies, soap, shampoo, deoderant, toothpaste/tooth brush, wash cloth, and towels.
14. Toys for the kids (if you have any), soccer ball, frisbees, tennis balls, etc...
15. A small camp table (you could use the cooler but it will be a pain everytime you need to get into it).

What is the cost?  The campground will charge per head.  Be prepared to pay $10 per person per night. We may be able to work out a deal, so stay tuned.

There are other things to do?  OOOooohhhh yes!  There certainly are!  There are backroads galore.  Obviously there are water related activities.  Or one could simply nap part of the day...

What other considerations can be made?  Plan to be off the grid a while.  Cell service is spotty at best.  There is a small bath house in the main camping area.  Days can be hot, nights chilly.  Be prepared for both.  The closest major retail stores are a half hour away.  Come prepared with all items you think you'll need, including medications!!  [thumbsup]  This is primitive style camping.  As in no electricity.

All the lawyer speak stuffs:  As long as no one gets stupid, there won't be a problem there.  This is an informal gathering of friends.  Therefore you are responsible for your own well being.  If you snap off your leg, or get eaten by a crocagator, be prepared to be responsible for it yourself.  This only happened to three people last time, so don't worry too much about it.  This is an outdoor venue with all the things the great outdoors brings.  Beauty, serenity, peace, love, kindness, snake bites, insects, wild animals, inclimate weather, star gazing, and quite possibly Rucas.

Wait, isn't this for Jeep people?  Kinda.  It's for everyone!  Pack your stuff, bring the kids, and let's have fun!!  Hope to see you there!  [thumbsup]
