For those of us who are not looking for an optioned-to-the-gills Silverado, F-150 or Ram 1500 and have gven up on the Second Coming of the SJ-413, perhaps this is your next pickup truck:

http://www.mahindrana.com/

a simple straightforward small pickup truck with a 2.2 Diesel engine, a 7-foot bed and a 2600 pound payload.  AND you can get it in 4x4!

The ground clearance isn't incredible but that's where we come in!

I think we're getting one of those dealerships or someone is gonna add them on.    I'd drive it.

Better come with a manual.

It looks like it would be a workhorse.  But if this article http://www.autoobserver.com/2008/02/indias-mahindra-plans-truck-production-in-ohio.html is correct, that price is pretty steep for what it offers.  JMO

They offer tractors over here now. I'd be game for a truck, but I don't know about diesel these days. Seems that the two lowest fuels in the barrel, diesel and kerosene, are bringing the largest premiums at the pump. :-\\

Cool little truck.........but.........

I think they need to keep them in India  ::) JMO

Last thing we need to be doing is sending more $$$$ and jobs out of the country....

Maybe a U.S. company will get the hint and build something like this......

From what I've read it would be built in Ohio.  Yeah corporate would be in India, but the workers would be American.

But if it were an American company, more $$ would stay here. If they create jobs, I guess that helps a little, I'm all for jobs for Americans. (now if we could find more Americans looking for a job and not a handout) I just think we need more American based companies doing stuff like this.

(I know, all this coming from a guy driving a Suzuki  :P, but our economy was different when our Zuks were born  ;D)

ok....back to the topic...........

Well hopefully the boys in Ohio can build a better truck than the boys in India do a tractor.

Mahindra tractors are crap. Impossible to get parts for as well. Mahinra also tried to import a small SUV type thing into the UK, it was a miserable POS.

I agree 100%.  I see the effects of outsourcing to India daily, and it is killing this country.

You will see pigs fly out of my butt before I buy any vehicle made by an Indian company.

hmm....me likey. not as much as a sami but its still cool. hey, while we're on the india subject...just import a brand new lwb samurai from there! http://www.marutigypsy.com/

I've got it all figured out..you switch the vin with an old lwb and presto! street legal! I would deffinately do this if they made the normal wheel base...I don't really like the LWB.

the new jimny lost that wonderful look I fell in love with...it looks so.....2008. or I'd import from japan!

In some places that's considered a crime....... punishable by law....and leaving you with more things to get all figured out. ;D
