Grew up hunting, don't really like eating anything other than wild game. Mostly go after moose 'cause they taste the best. I shoot custom Ruger M77 in a .280 ackley improved.

Someday I hope to hunt moose. Just for future reference, how do you get a moose in a Sammy? Chainsaw? ;D forklift?
Reminds me of some advice I heard about moose hunting.
When and old time moose hunter was asked by a new guy, "where is the best place to shoot a moose?" The old timer replied, " close to the truck" ;D
Remember , when you're up to your a** in alligators, who's idea it was to drain the swamp.

Be sure to have nose plugs or a face mask handy too, as Meese has a rather "Heady" aroma....   There's not enough Febreze it the world to cover that smell !!!

This is why I love zuke pickups, for hunting. Many times they need to be quartered to just get back to the truck. If you are lucky, or smart, you do shoot them close to the road. I've had to snowshoe a couple km's dragging out quarters on a tobaggon, not too fun.

You get used to that smell, I don't hardly notice it anymore. I tend to leave the big bulls alone, especially during the rut. Young one's taste better, mmmmm tender.

You haven't seen anything until you see a sex-crazed moose try to mate with your lawn mower.......

Meese is the Tiger Woods of the animal world.

no no no. i have software that lets me see when a picture is taken. (im a wedding and event photographer) all new cameras (2000 to presant) inbed info in the image time, what kind of camera, focal langth, if a flash is used or not. i like to see what people use to take serton shots and what settings are used so i look at the embeded info. now newer camers are putting geotags on the picture and this help the police catch child-porn ( gives the police a pgs spot to go to)

sorry off topic  :-X

I agree with Ruby...Moose tastes best.

Hunt sheep, elk but that being said I am crazy about whitetails. Don't have the monsters where I hunt but there are a few big guys. Shoot a variety of rifles but usually seen with my Model 70 .300 Win Mag or Sako .243.
