ok, so i was goofing off and was gonna flex up on a buddys tire the other day at our club cookout when all of a sudden i hear a POP and my front tire disappeared under my truck! :o

i jumped out and this is what i found.

new TREs ordered... i have now decided this is a crap design and it needs heims set up in a double shear situation but is there room? hmmm...

watch out guys, if this had happened on the street, it coulda been bad!

Well that makes me a little nervous....
I would like to see what you end up with for this, because I am going to do the same thing you do!

The first set of rims I had were bent or something and I had terrible death wobble all the time. I think that did the damage. I am gonna put it back as is for now but first chance I get I'm gonna redo it.

Mine had death wobble before also, but after adding some extra caster it went away completely.

i never liked that design of using TRE's for a panhard...they just arent meant for that ::)

use some 3/4x3/4 heims, even in single shear it'll be a lot stronger ;)...if you're worried, weld a thick washer on the backside of the bracket so it cant flex ;)

Let Brent know what happend, cuz that's how he makes a better kit.  He has hundreds of testers and hopes he hears of everything that might go wrong on any of his products.

Most OE applications that i know of are thru bolt and rubber bushing at one end to allow give and avoid the hammering stress of the chassis.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that. He usually just posts in HIS threads, and doesn't have time to brows the other threads. TT seems to be a reputable company, I'd give them a call and let 'em know (or at least e-mail those pics). He might just work with you on a re-design... might save you some $$$.

I called brent thursday and told him about it and ordered the replacement. He didn't sound concerned about it being broke. Lol
