And now, without further ado, our March ZOOM victim, Paxtylzuk!
Congratulations for winning the March 2009 Zuwharrie Owner of the Month!
How does it feel being honored along with the past winners? It is such an honor and a huge surprise!
So tell us about you. Who are you, where do you live, and what do you do for a living? My name is Deanna Holden, I live in Claremont, N.C. I work at Piedmont Cardiology doing insurance pre-certifications and charging.
Tell us a bit about your family.I’m married to a wonderful husband, Tim (SideTracked). We have two amazing little boys, Paxton (4) and Tyler (3). They are so much fun and they love to go wheeling.

How did you get started in Suzuki’s?Tim took a job in Ashe county about 5 years ago and needed something 4WD and decent on gas. He ended up with a ’94 Sidekick, the blue one we still have. He searched the net and found this place. We got to know a few folk, the Bryans (Beekiller and Zukimon) and then attended our first Zuwharrie event in Spring ’06. I decided shortly after, I had to have my own.
How long did it take you to build your Zuk to what it is today?I bought it in the summer of 2007 so I guess about a year and a half.

Any changes in store for your rig?Of course! Is a rig ever finished? LoL I have a spool right now that is awaiting installation. Eventually, I would like to do a SAS and 33’s or 35’s. A V-6 and some t-case gears would be nice too.
If you could have anybody else’s Zuk, who’s would it be and why?Well, I’m not sure where it’s at right now, but that newer model Tracker that Bell had is awesome! A very capable, nice looking rig.
What has been your best wheeling adventure?Oh man, I don’t know, it’s hard to say what the “best” has been. There’s really only two places that we go. UNF and Callantee in Mountain City, TN. I enjoy the events the most. If nothing else but the for the fellowship. My most memorable one I would have to say was Spring ’06, our first. It rained almost the whole time. That’s also the only time we got to meet Art.
If you could go to any place in the world to wheel, where would that be?I really want to go to Moab. It looks like such a beautiful place.
Who are you closest to in the Zuwharrie community? You mean other than Tim (SideTracked) my husband? I guess it would be Bryan Colvard (Beekiller). He has done so much for us it’s unbelievable. He’s just an all around great guy. All of the Krew Krawlers just pull together to help whenever they can. They are truly like another family.
I’ve kinda picked up that you were/are into drag racing. Care to tell us a little bit about your history with that?I had a 1995 Grand Am GT. It was bone stock but man, it was so much fun. With bracket racing consistency is the key more so than speed. I raced it for several years and then I traded it for a Saturn. Man what was I thinking? Right now, I have a 1971 Chevy Nova Rally Sport that is currently under construction. It seems the Zuk world and those two little boys take up most of our time. I’m hoping to get it ready and be back at the strip in the next year or so.
Do you have any other interesting hobbies?Eh, not really. I like to sing. I was a classically trained music major in college and I sing opera. That surprises a lot of people.
What is it about the Zuwharrie.com BBS that brings you back for more?Family! Everyone here is so willing to help and they welcome you with open arms. The tech advice is great too. If you have a question, somebody here has the answer.
What about the Zuwharrie Event would you like to see changed?I would like to see the staff be able to get out and do more. It seems the same people are always stuck behind the tables or behind the serving lines. It doesn’t seem fair and I think it would be nice to share the work load.
