Better late than never!!!

Congratulations for winning the October 2008 Zuwharrie Owner of the Month!
Thanks Roy and everyone else in the Zu !!

How does it feel being honored along with the past winners?
I honestly feels great buddy !! There are quite a few members in the Zu that I can’t hold a candle to though…LOL !!

So tell us about you.  Who are you, where do you live, and what do you do for a living?
Well……My Name is David Stiff // I live in Fayetteville, N.C. and I just changed positions so now I am an Emergency Electrical Dispatcher.

Tell us a bit about your family.

I have a very beautiful & loving wife (Nicole), A Loving Mother that stays with us and the gang (Rage) (Taylor) and (Bunker)

How did you get started in Suzuki’s?

Let me see if I can explain without my allergies kickin in. I got my 1st Zuk 15-17 years ago. I decided I wanted to do something to this Zuk, but didn’t know exactly what at the time. So I typed in “Suzuki Forums” and found Zuwharrie. I lurked for a while and then started asking the usual nubie questions and the rest is history.

Your new build is getting lots of comments in the Suzuki Tech section, can you tell us a little about it?
Well it all started with a vision in my head …… then the most terrible thing happened …….. We lost our Best Friend (Art). From that point on I wanted to build something unique and the birth of  Zuburban began. You named it Roy and it stuck …LOL!! Zuburban is a 22” stretched tin top / it has the 1.6 16 valve / 35x13.50x15 Krawlers / YJ missing link suspension.
Follow the build here:http://bbs.zuwharrie.com/content/topic,75556.0.html

How long did it take you to build your Zuk to what it is today?
The build is still in progress, but I hope to have it completed b-4 the Zu event.

Any changes in store for your rig?
No real major changes, but I do plan to put a / Pan hard bar and I am thinking about linking the rear (4-link with coils) // Spool the front // and go hydro assist

Fletch was another build ahead of it’s time, tell us about it.
Man……Fletch was my 1st build and man it was fun. It went from a regular vert zuk with missing link YJ suspension to half cab flatbed. I loved that rig and wish I never got rid of it.

If you could have anybody else’s Zuk, who’s would it be and why?
That is an easy question Roy. I would like to have the Popsicle for obvious reasons and I have had my eye on Bama’s Zuk too LOL !!

What has been your best wheeling adventure?
I can’t remember which Zu event it was but it was when Art had climbed into the trees to get a pic of the whole group in the rock garden. That event me and Art had some good times and that day will never be forgotten.

If you could go to any place in the world to wheel, where would that be?
That’s easy………..MOAB if I can ever get the money………….. Babydoll has given the go-ahead so we will see.

Who are you closest to in the Zuwharrie community?
Wow…..I have to say that Art was my best friend  here in the Zu, but Roy….you and Connie are true friends to me and Nicole. Heck I consider you guys family !!

What other toys/hobbies do you put a lot of time into?
I love hunting !! I spend a good majority of my time hunting during the season and in the off season I am either scouting for new areas or building automatic feeders. I do like the beach also and I tend to wet a hook off of the surf.

What is it about the Zuwharrie.com BBS that brings you back for more?
Like most everyone on here has said buddy………… the family like atmosphere and the fellowship between us all. I can’t stress enough on how important it is to have this kind of relationship in a group as large as we are. There are other groups that envy us.

What about the Zuwharrie Event would you like to see changed?
I would like to see an extension of the Zu Event. Not move the event, but something like “The Zu At Tellico” or “The Zu At (place the name here)”. If I could just side note here. I would love to see Carolina Beach Revisited for a Zunami event one year :o)
