my dad has a WH he has been using since 1970....was my great uncles to begin with, then my grandfathers.

looks similar if not identical to TNTrackers 857 on page 6 of the thread. i think it was new in early - mid 1960s. would that be about right?

original everything.....tires....paint....seat....grass deck....snow blower....8hp kohler....bill of sale

he likes to cut grass with it but it spits grease from somewhere on top of the grass deck. any idea where i can get re build parts?

i will try to get pics when he gets back from FLA. as he has the key to the shed with him.

any info would be welcome

Here's the latest "in progress"...

My wife bought it for me for Christmas.

I pulled the engine to see where the MASSIVE oil leak was coming from...

Just as I suspected... the bottom of the pan. You can just make out the cracks. One down each side.

I had the engine off, so I figured I'd take a few more pieces off and clean it up a bit...

I slid on some heavy duty hubs off of a B-80...

And put on a fresh set of tie rods...

Rollin, rollin, rollin....

New wiring...

Not wanting to overload the new ignition switch, I added a solenoid. It tucked nicely in behind the steering column.

Now for a bit of a custom touch...

I had a muffler from a newer Horse and decided on using it. It came out just as I imagined.   8)

That's all for now.

How did you go from This

To This

The panel looked too rusty to clean up & re-use..... I assume the silver/black in 2nd photo is a decal, but how would it stick to the old rusty metal behind ??  Navel Jelly? Rust Remover Treatment? Lots of work with wire brush ?

just curious, as eventually I'll be restoring my 1963 Simplicity
