Well, it's time to start another project...  ;D

I bought this old Wheel Horse about a year ago to restore with my kids.
It is a 1960 or 1961 Wheel Horse Suburban with a 4 HP Kohler K-91 engine. It has been previously restored. (about 20 years ago, judging by the paint and incorrect decals)

I started by disassembling the original K-91 (no pics yet)... It was seized up. Upon disassembly, I found that the camshaft was broken in half. Luckily, when I bought it, the guy gave me 2 other complete K-91's with it... So, out of the 3... I SHOULD be able to make a GOOD engine.  [approve]

I will update with pics as soon as I can.

Mine is bigger!!!!!!!! All origional but the front tires and seat. my great uncle bought it in 77 or 79?? c-121 12hp 42"deck and plow/dozer blade you cant replace a tank like this with a new mower today. It even has twin stick, low range, crawler gears LOL

I will be restoring mine in a year or so also. planning a dual rear wheel setup :P

Jon I say go 1.6 16v right away don't waste money on  the stock engine. Then go toy axles as the stock ones won't hold 35" tires.

Hydrostatic drive with a bigger pump.  ;D

J/K  nice rig hope you and the kids have fun.

Real nice. Check out yahoo groups and see if they have a wheel horse group. I had found an old craftsman lawn tractor and found a lot of information. Jim

Well, I am STOKED!

I was missing the belt cover... I have seen about 10 of these, restored, missing the belt cover... I found this rusty pile of wheelhorse on e-bay and immediately knew that it was one of the rare "mid engine" models like mine.... AND IT STILL HAD THE BELT COVER! I bid on it and won it for $51!!!!!  ;D  8) Now I just have to drive 4 hours to pick it up... Well worth it, in my book.  8)
