There seems to be a lot of RUF and Cj questions lately. I have done a write up over the past few years as I built Project #2. It was a stocker and went Cj and Ruf with SPOA. There is , I believe, some useful info there and to the best of my knowledge it is all true. The Sammi has since gone back to stock spring SPOA.  It also has a write up on OTT steering. Just jump around the pages to find info. Jim

Do any cj front springs work or just from a cj7?

I think some of the older CJ's had 1 3/4" wide springs.  Just check.  If they are 2" 5-packs then you should be good to go.

What about eye to eye measurement? All the 2" springs are same length?

Not sure about the Eye to eye.  CJ fronts are 3" longer (eye to eye)than the stock sami rears if that helps any.

I believe they are too long to run without either the plates or M/Ls. Jim

Actually that is fine to just run the M/Ls alone. In fact me running both was kind of a mistake. I thought they both had to be run. Found out later it was either. Jim

Mine doesn't hit. I run the CJs, and rufs with M/Ls F/R  I do have about a 8" lift. I did have to move my shocks in front of the axle.

So everyone is telling me to go cj  & ruf for my setup.
Only problem is I know very little about cars, and even less about suspension.

For the RRO kit do I have to buy the entire setup (Full Front and Rear System) or just the rear setup?

My basic understanding of this kit is that I have to buy the full kit, and then I just need to find Jeep springs, and follow the directions.

but I am not sure whether I need all 4 jeep springs or just 2, and if only two, should I be looking for the fronts of rears?

Also do I need shocks?

Any guidance would be great. All I want is a lift with enough clearance to run 31's for under 600-700 bucks. help me!

You want CJ7 front springs to put in the rear of your Sammy.

If staying SPUA and not using missing links, no, you can get by with your original shocks. But if they're 20 years old, they probably need replacing too.

If you do a search for CJ/RUF, you'll find tons of helpful information. ;)
