Hello, my name is Steve, I'm 26 years old, originally from NY and am now living in Phoenix.  I'm attending school at UTI and working in a metal fab shop.  I'm an absolute green horn to the off-road world.  I sort of fell in love with Samurais when I saw one of my instructors rigs at school, a lifted OD green tin top.  When I heard my room mates father had a Sammy for sale I jumped on the opportunity.  I am now the owner of an 86 rag top.  While in need of some TLC, she has potential and I'm looking forward to making my Sammy all my own.  Working in a fab shop has it's perks and I already have a few mods in the works.  I hope to gain a lot of Samurai knowledge from this site and am looking forwad to interacting with all of you.  Thanks.

Hello, My name is Ari and I too have a Zuk addiction...

I am originally from Uruguay but I live in Costa Rica and have been living here for give or take 16 years. I was born of Feb 14, 1983 and at the moment I am finishing my studies as a Mechanical Engineer at The University of Costa Rica. I also work as an English teacher at a foreign language institute. I am not married and have no children. For now I am just enjoying life and trying to get my sami in the best condition I can in order to have a completely dependable wheeler and daily driver.

I guess all that is left to say is thank you to those that have already helped me and I hope I can also contribute to the wealth of knowledge found on this board!!

Word, my name is Chris and I just joined the other day. I've always read what I could without being a member but when I started the painting process of my samurai I became a member. I've found this board to be the most knowledgeable around as far as tech goes and I know most of it is all trial and error learning. I know thats how I am learning. Anyways I live in Gainesville Fl and I just bought my truggy from a ranch in Clewiston Fl it has 40,000 original and was sitting with no top for years. It is gunk filled under the valve cap like noone ever changed the oil and it is my dd. But I want to transform it a lil, homemade spoa, fiberglass dash, bedliner, 30x9.5s on stock steelies with engine enamel paint. etc.....

Hello all.

I have been using the board for finding some info for lifts, tech, and other goodies... So i decided to join the board to start to share ideas and meet some other ZUK's in the area.

I am a computer guy.  A computer guy that was addicted to a 94 jl when I was 15. Five years later, I have Upgraded (yes, believe it or not I LOVE the older model compared to the newer sammy's) to a mint 87 stocker jx that originally belonged to non other than Sonny Osbourne.  The bad thing about a samurai is they consume you.  They make you work for hours on metal to fab it to fit... They leak in the rain if everything is not perfectly sealed... They are SLOW when driving on the interstate... and I would not own anything else to drive.  As a former owner of a lifted landrover, I can say that I will never off-road anything except for a sammy.  Near future upgrades include, but not limited to:

YJ springs- (this weekend hopefully!)
all the other mods that go with the YJ driveline and shocks etc
full roll
tranny gears
31x10.50's
zor brute
rock sliders
sound bar

This is meant to be a road queen, sorry I know its a sin...

But my trail is a tube chassis so far (to make sure I dont dent some pretty heep metal  ;D)

Hello from Iowa - LOL.  My name is Robert and I own a database profiling and analytic's company in North Liberty.

I have been into Land Rovers for a while now and I am just sick of how much money I have to throw into them to keep them on the road, let alone have fun with them so I was looking for a light little truck that was cheap to get into and upgrade and didn't need anything that gets on the expressway or has a V8 in it - so here I am.

There was a guy that lived down the street from my fathers business when I was in high school who had a lifted sammi with a wicked paint jog and I always like them just never got one.  Then when I moved to IC after high school there was a guy next door to me that had 3 of them.  Now I am all "growedup" and engaged and turns out my fiance drove one in high school and loves them.  He father has had 3 of them and is now looking for another one too.  So again I say here I am...

I thought I had one bought the other night but when I got down there to pick it up I realized the owner was a complete liar and even went as far as to send me a picture from 2 years ago (not telling me of course).  So i am back on the hunt and I am negotiating a deal on one today that is about 7hr south of me and hopefully I will have it Sunday.

Cross your fingers for me...

Also, thanks ahead of time for all of the help, knowledge, and wisdom I will surely pickup on this forum.

THANKS GUYS-

Hello all,

My name is John but most call me Kajo. I have been wheeling for 22 years, fabricating for 10 including working on a couple Samis in Hawaii (Scott410's for one), running Kajobuilt for about 3 years. I recently purchased a 1987 softtop that I was working on when the owner lost interest. I decided to build it as my own. I will start a thread when I start working on it. I hope to see some of you on the trail.

Kajo
