Today, I removed the dash, back seats and carpet....

The firewall is lined with foam, and I will be welding on metal that is in contact with the foam.... If it would catch fire, (with the dash in there) I wold probably never be able to put it out.... so, out it came!

Also, I will be running my front cage bars through the dash.... So, it really needed to come out anyhow. Just wasn't planning on it.... yet.  :-\\

I also noticed that the insulation (the stuff that is such a PAIN to get out in samurais) pops right out, in one piece....  ;D So, I may be Line-x'ing the floor...

My 4dr has the carpet removed already, I wonder how hard the sound deadening material is gonna be to get out. ::) I want to Herculine it since it's nearly half way there.

The winch plate is permanently mounted! Two of the winch mounting bolts pass through the front crossmember, and I added two more bolts through the crossmember and added sleeves to all, so the crossmember could not be crushed when tightening the bolts... I also capped the ends of the framerails and welded the plate, everywhere I could. Should be STOUT!  ;D

I also made some mounts for the powersteering cooler and mounted it. (forgot pics of it mounted...  ::) )

Also, Logan (newp09, landfill and I put the front clip back on, FOR THE FINAL TIME!  ;D

I have to finish welding the passenger's side back on, so I'll have pics tomorrow. (I'll take pics of the P/S cooler too...  ;D

That's all for now.

I am getting sick, so I didn't feel like doing much.....

But, I finished putting the front clip on!  ;D It was a PITA.... the passenger's side firewall was pushed in, from the wreck... So, I had to pull the passenger's side HVAC box and coax it into position with the BFH. Fits great now....  [approve]
Also spent about 2 hours fitting the fenders to get the gap "just right"
Should have more tomorrow, if I even feel like getting out of bed....  :(

Also, here are the pics of the powersteering cooler mounted.  ;D

I now have steering!  ;D

I cleaned up and painted my IFS toyota steering box...and mounted it.

Then I modified the pressure and volume on the pump. I drilled the orfice in the pressure relief valve (I cannot remember what size, but it was 3 bit sizes bigger than the hole was originally) I also shimmed the spring with 2 washers. I wish I would have tried it before, to see if there was any difference, but... oh well.

I used PSC's high pressure line and RE-USEABLE ends... a 45* (-6an) fitting on the power steering pump and a straight (-6an) fitting on the steering box. Both adapted with PSC's IFS (pressure side) to -6an adapters. worked GREAT and NO LEAKS!  [approve]

I routed my return line through a large tranny cooler with transmission fluid compatible hose.

So, how's it work? Not too bad at all. ;D  I will probably end up adding hydro assist, but I think it will work, as is, Just fine... [approve]

Thanks!
Yes,stock pump (slightly modified) It seems to work pretty good... although I am still getting all the air out of the system... And, I may need a larger resivoir.

I read somewhere (pirate) of a guy running hydro assist with IFS 'yota box and the same pump... with GREAT results.. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. lol
