I decided to take a break from all the grinding and welding today and made my steering shaft. It is a compilation of tracker, toyota and samurai shaft components.......
I've got to work all weekend, so I'll have more on Monday or Tuesday..... hopefully.

Not much to report, but I do have steering now......  ;D
I still need to finish plating the frame and order a new drag link...... Turns out, it is a little short. (7 inches)  ::)
I called Trail-Gear to see if they do custom lengths. They DO NOT.... Oh well.
Can anybody recommend someone that can make a draglink for me?

Also, I got some dial indicators for the driveshaft jig that I'll be building soon. Thanks little old man next door.... (panzer's dad)
 ;D

Stay tuned. More this weekend.

Well, aside from the shock hoops, the drivers side framerail is DONE! I have come to realize that this takes a LONG time... Or, I'm really slow. Here's what I did....
1. Removed strut towers and ALL unnessecary bracketry.
2. notch frame for pitman arm clearance.
3. plate outside of frame to add rigidity and do away with crumple zones.
4. plate inner rail all the way to the motor mount (Re: crumple zones.)
5. Box in the notch where I cut out for pitman arm
6. modify and install Trail-Gear IFS box mount (plates and sleeves)

I welded everything solid in 1"-2" increments as to not warp the frame. THIS TOOK FOREVER!
I think I have about 3 or 4 days in this one rail.....  ::)

Sorry about the cell phone pics, But my camera is 10-0    ::)
