I am at a complete loss for words. My deepest sympathies go out to the Lilley clan. He will be missed. I am honored to have known him, he always seemed to be on top of the world.

I'm new to this board so never knew Art. I used to  be so hard hearted but getting to 60yrs old has melted me down. As I have spent months on the fighting line, I know a soldier though and this hits me hard. Sitting here in tears, I know how tall he stood, but so many will never know the taste of freedom that Art gave them with his sacrifice. It takes quite a person to stand up to death defending people he doesn't even know and Art did that with all the honor accorded to a soldier. I've sent my prayers for him, and know Gabriel will escort him in lock step thru the gates of heaven as Art marched to sound of battle to keep me free and safe. God's tender loving mercies on Art is my prayer..  S!!!

Although I never actually met Art (although I spoke with him on the phone and almost convinced him to come out to the Hammers on one of his So-Cal trips), I still am proud to wear my "I know Art Lilley" t-shirt from a few years ago.  My condolences to his family for this devastating loss.

To whom ever did the banner, thank you.  Can you send me the code for it.  Wanna put it up on a couple of my sites.

I just wanna add, I knew my little bro was a good guy but I had no idea.  I can finally read the post on here, pirate and co4x4 without the tears.   There is still pain and always will be, but having him as a brother and seeing the response here and other places makes me feel better, in a strange way.

Good?........One of the best people that I have ever met or known. I am still choked up from this, and I know that it has to be hard for you and your family in this trying time. I truly hope that you can all get through this time with the strength and power that he would have wanted us all to have.

even after reading this 2 times i still cant believe that we have lost one of our own. i personally have never met Art but i have talked to him in some pms before thanking him for the service that he performs for us and this country. i have to ties to this man but it feels llike i have lost a member of my own family and i am very sad that i did not get to meet Art face to face. i wish the best to his family and i am envious to the ones that got to meet and talk to Art in person

wasn't this his 5th time over?

Not sure about number of times but we usually found out he was gone after he was back, you know the drill.

While I didn't have my zuk very long, the people from this board made a great impression on me.  I believe a lot of that is a direct result of excellent leadership.  Even when I decided to leave the zuk world after not being able to get over my roll (I still don't even like to drive stock jeeps), I never received any jabs or negative attitudes from anyone here.  Again, I believe that has a lot to do with the leadership that Art was such a big part of.

As soon as I heard this news, I prayed for Art's family.

Incidentally, I am in the process of becoming an Army Chaplain.  Men like Art are a big reason that I feel called to serve there.  He is a true hero.

I am also praying for the many here that were so close to him.  I know you will keep his memory alive.
