Gentlemen:

You are comparing apples to oranges here...

Even SJ410Kelly will admit that a Kei Truck is not the kind of vehicle that you want to have on the highways in the US.  They are slow, underpowered and not built to take the punishment of a vehicular accident like all the rest of the vehicles on the road -- INCLUDING THE SMART CAR!

Plus, you cannot universally title them for on-road useage.  Maybe in one or two states, but not every state!  Remember, some of us drive our vehicles on roads in multiple states - even in our daily commutes.  I would be screwed by Smokey every time I drove my Kei truck (if I had one) from Independence, MO to Overland Park Kansas if only one of the two states allowed the operation of Kei trucks on it's highways.

I am just danged happy to have a Samurai!

I am gonna go back to my corner and be quiet now... ;D

The fuel injected turbo truck will get to 70 mph, and the newer trucks have airbags.

They may hold up to smacking a Kia but I think a Suburban would beat the crap out of one.

We have alot tighter standards in the US than most countries do.  I have bought BMW's in Germany for under 7 grand new and when I tried to import it here it was gonna cost me several thousands of dollars to get it to pass customs.  Lights, windows, exhast, side impact, front impact,bumpers just to name a few.

this is for sj410kelly. if you could message me some info on these trucks and what yall can get and who to talk to. my sister owns a vehicle transport company and my dad and i have been thinking about trying to get a few to build a couple for ourselves and to sell some to pay for it. i live in west texas where alot of people go through fourwheelers and mules or side by sides and complain about how limited they are in certain areas and how much they cost.

I used to drive Suzuki Supercarry with a 990cc engine for delivery work. Nothing at all wrong with them on the road they'll hit 70.
I drove mine from Cork, Ireland to Paris, France with out a problem.

the one he is talking about would do 70 mph.   The newer Fuel injected Keis would do 70 mph too.
