Hey Dan and Company,

Any ideas on dates for GZ 07?   I know we're a little far out, but I wanted to see if the idea had popped into anyone's heads yet.

Hey Kevin,

You've got the red sami on 31 SSRs??

I'll be up in your neck of the woods pretty soon.   I have a  few accounts along I-87 between Kingston and Plattsburgh that I need to visit.

I'd like to get back over to Paragon soon.   There was some talk that a few of us Chad/Stacie, Tom, and George... Maybe Dan too would head up there sooner than later for a run.... I'll keep you posted...

we are in the process of working out the dates. im sure as soon as we finalize that with paragon they will be posted :)

ill be workin on my zuk all day tomorrow and hopefully sunday too....i need to get it ready to do some preliminary wheelin...

onething i di want to do is get a group together in spring once the weather is nice to try out a different campground as a prospect for GZ.

i was told the facilities are nicer then red ridge...but may be a hair farther from paragon. i also inquired last year witht he owner and they were willing to work with us on a better rate. red ridge pretty much refused to give us a better rate for some pretty mediocre sites.

the facilties were decent but i think the price was a bit high for the primitive sites....

Those weren't even sites......they were dirt patches in a picnic area.   ;D

I've camped at a couple other places in the area...

Moyers Grove is near there, but as for tent camping i think you are pretty much limited to an open picnic area as well.  they do have cabins and campers they rent out.

A place we stayed at for the ZR2 Got Mud?  trips was Mt. Pocono campground.   That place was great, seperate campsites, they gave us a group rate, and our own corner of the campground.  The only problem with that place is that its about an hour drive from Paragon.   Thats not so convienent most of us.

the campground i spoke too was Sandy Valley. its only a bit further from pap and ive been told it has nice facilities...and i had talked to the owner last year about a group discount and he was willing to work with us. but before i do too much checking i want to go there and just stay there a weekend and see what its like before we decide on making plans for the group

Jason,
If you don't get the chance to stay there and check it out, give me a shout.  I have some towers that occasionally need servicing and they are right down the road from pap. I could arrange to swing through the campground and maybe stay a night.
Do they have a website?  i googled but didn't find them.

I have to let the others take control, at least for a little while.  With the divorce, and the house, and all the other BS going on in my life, I have quite a bit on my plate right now.

I must say I am pumped for this years event.  Though I got rid of my Sammi to get my childhood love back (47 CJ2a) - My Uncle (Budo101) and I have been working feverishly to complete his rig.  We will def. be down this year (maybe a couple times before).  Would anyone complain about wheeling with a vintage jeep at GonZukin?   Also - if you guys need any help planning and preparing - let me know.

everything sounds good so far guys, my only suggestion is we come up with some ideas to get more people there this year...thats my idea, don't count on any more lol.  i know there's lots more zuks in the vicinity than what showed up...but how do we get them out...bikini carwash at the campground maybe?  beer fountain? maybe wheel a day at rausch creek and plan a night run(im not sure if they're allowed, but maybe they'd let us).  maybe we could try to get some magazine to cover/sponsor the event i dunno

Can't Wait to hit the trials again.  But I whacked a tree last Friday, so the kick is down for now, I bought a little beat up tracker to run till school finishes.  I will have the kick ready for GZ 07.  I found most of the body parts I need just a matter of the snow stopping and getting then new stuff on.

Dirt?  Around my way we call that a river bottom.
