KEEP TELLICO CLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I "live" at Tellico and have been going there for about 20 years now. No Im not that old I just started young. Anyway, I had a great time with a super group of poeple last year and will do my best to do the same this year. This post about trail closures and Jacka$$es using bypass trails they are not supposed to WILL in fact get Tellico closed. I to have had a conversation with USFS and will do anything in my power to prevent this from happening. I used to ride ATV's and motorcycles but now its only 4x4's. I will have to say it is mostly ATV's that use bypasses and go places they are not supposed to. Sometimes they simply dont know and should be educated by those of us who do. Then you have the idiot's who dont care. As the earlier post said "They should be reported"

On a lighter note I met up with Jed from last year this past weekend and rode for about 1/2 day. Then met up with them again near dark. Seems everyone was having a great time. I will be camping in the "pay" sites on the Tennessee side. If ANYONE has any questions please feel free to call and I will do my best to answer. By the way Jimmy I have onboard air and will bring a 3/8 air rachet and 1/2 impact. Dont forget we will be able to "stick" weld in the woods too.

Curtis,

It was good to see you again.  Sorry we ran out so quick after slick rock.  Our whole group was a little frustrated.  We had a long day with that Scout in our group.  After you guys left lower 2 he flopped.  Then the steering box came loose (stripped one of the bolts), then one of the power steering lines split and blew PS fluid all over the exhaust manifold.  It caught on fire.....not once, but three times.

Sunday was much better we did guard rail and helicopter pad.  We had one truck lose a tcase mount and have a dead battery.  Nothing major, but I managed to roll while trying to get close enough to jump start the truck.  It was still a great day.  We all hated to leave yesterday.

No worries.....I could tell you had a bad day........Maybe we will be able to ride again soon. That rig of yours looks way better with the red cage.

Hey Jbird sorry it has taken so long to reply to your PM. But I've sorta been occupied lately, My wife and I just found out we are having a baby. So I'm not sure if I will make it this weekend or not? To answer your question about parking, there is not alot of places to park on the road for a rig. The best I can remember about that Lodge is your going to do good if you get 2 rigs in there. But dont just count on what I say, contact the owner. You folks are gonna have a GOOD TIME  anyway that Cabin is nice and large. But please remember it is all private property and there is a locked gate for a reason. So please keep it locked at all times.  And have a cold one for me!, since me ol'lady has put the lockdown on me, I may not be able to for awhile. But I certainly hope to meet you folks this weekend.

Congrats Jason, on the baby on the way. ;D

We stayed at this cabin last year. And you're right, parking is tight. I was hoping there was an empty drive-way or some place in the development we might be able to park a few tow rigs and trailers. No big deal, we'll figure it out.

You know where we'll be. Stop by and see us if you can.

We generally don't trailride at night. So we will probably be at the cabin. Come see us.

I just read the entire post on Pirate4x4 about people using illegal trail bypasses. It would seem the BEST way to handle this is to inform the person who is doing it that he/she is in violation of the laws in place by the USFS. Also make sure they now the regardless of what they think, there are LAWS and the USFS will issue tickets. A few photo's sent to the USFS as well as posted here, pirate4x4 and other BBS's  will teach people they cant get away with it anymore. I don't want to be the "sherriff" I just want to do my part to keep Tellico open.
