Looks like a whole lot of bolting up, and not too much welding.

It looks like a really nicely put together kit.  I wonder what the labor time is.

I would bet that it could be installed in a weekend if you already had the axles ready to go. There is still a good bit of welding required on the axles to mount the control arms, coil buckets, and shock mounts. I think it looks like a high quality setup though. Very nice! 8)

WoW!  That is awesome...  The wait is over.  ;D  :D  ;D   Wooo HOOO

Way to go Brent!

Now for the beginning of the 1 million questions....

1.  Drive shafts?  Stock?
     Rat adapters?
What about the slip yokes, Slip yoke eliminators?   Not necessary?

2.  The Hi steering is a nice addition.  How do the stock pump and box hold up?  Would one need to modify or change the pump or add a cooler to the stock system.

3.  Is the top bar in the picture above the links a Pan Hard / Trac bar?

4.  Axles, I like the Toyotas.  I'm running them with stock 4.11 gears in the Sammy buggy with 12:1 @ t-case.  Anyway to offer a similarly priced Big Suzanna DIYS front using an extra rear Kick 3rd and the stock kick rear axle...  I'm sure this idea has been considered over at TT and end result might be more expensive.

5.  I'm still struggling to over come the high range road gearing hurdle.   Gearing a Kick to push 35's down the Hwy has been difficult.   (Kick High Range T-case is 1:1 unlike the Sammy)

Wonder what the ride height is?
What size tires can i run without any trimming or rubbing?

Wish it was cheaper but seems to have a good price.

well the green rig is mine and it is a kick [censored] machine. Trail Tough has made a winner(as always) as far as the slip yoak, the lower arms on both the front and back are mounted on the same verticle plane as the output of the transfer case. this allowes about 1/2 to 3/4 " in and out movement as the axle travels thru its cycle. beleive me, it was a concern for me(the only one) but i have had the rig on the RTI ramp and in ditches and i have never seen it slip more than 1/2 " out.
every time i take it wheeling i'm more amazed at how awesome the suspension works. when crossing a ditch 3'wide x 3' deep the body roll is sooooo minimal, it is rediculous. i came from a sammy w/ yj's to this, and i had to lern how to drive all over.
if you have any questions feel free to ask me. or call the man, brent.

P.S. a guy a couple town away is in the process of putting this kit under a X90. i think he gonna have to cut the fenderwells a little though

well, when i did the conversion, i opted to go with the 5.29's aginst brents advice. well it wasnt enough gear to turn the 33-12.5 MTR's. it is tore apart awaiting the ring and pinions to be set up. i'm going to the 5.71's. should have listened to him, but i was scared of the weakness of the 5.71's. i'll let you know how it drives next sunday. jason

So i was thinking about the design for the 4-door models of this kit.  I guess it would either require a longer central cross member for all the links to attach to, or 2 different cross members to make up for the difference in length.  Not that i'll be doing it anytime soon, but let's hope they do come up with the 4-door kit.

I am guessing they will just do longer links.  Everything eles would remain the same.

Are those 31's or 33's on that 4-door?  that flex looks bigger than the 2 door for some reason.  Maybe it's the angle?

I'll second that.
First, 5.71 isn't that much lower than the 5.12 that comes in Sidekicks right from the factory.
Second, Toyota diffs are a full step bigger and stronger than Suzuki diffs.
Third, 5.71's ARE NOT necessarily weaker than taller ratios.  Read this:

You have to realize that we dont have time to watch all of these BBS boards all of the time. We only look at them after work, at home.  If you want a quick answer to something, you really need to call us directly - it is toll free - during business hours.  Brent hates email and only does tech by phone.  However, the upper control arms are 1 1/3 diameter 3/16 wall.  The Lowers are 1 3/8 diameter 1/4 wall.  For any further tech info you really should call Brent directly. You will get answers MUCH quicker!!!  :)

Thanks.

SOS, owned by Kerry Wittig, has teamed up with Rock 4x Fabrication to produce the RingR and Lucky 13. These are adapters that allow you to mate Toy transfer cases to Suzuki Power plants as well as adapt 1.6 transmissions up to 1.3 Sammi motors. Click on the products section at www.rock4xfabrication.com for more details ;)

when i was shopping for a truck, i called and talked to brent and asked if he had any plans to build one for the Gvs, cause i wanted one of those bad! he said he didnt because of the width and strength of the frame prevented toyota axles from being used (he uses the stock frame side coil buckets) and steering issues because the GVs are rack and pinion... i would have much rather had one, but because the kit wasnt available i went ahead and got my 96 tracker. im not into fabbing my own stuff (dont have welding skills), so a kit was a must, and a solid axle conversion was the only way i was going to buy a tracker.

The Kit looks like it could be adapted, but the techincal stuff would be up to you.

I have an 02 GV XL-7 and dirty thouhts.

A true bolt on kit for a later modle would be more complex, more $$$  and probally sell less #'s.  = not profitable to sell.

not to mention since a 4 door already has 5.125 gearing and to switch over to toy axles would have to get lower gears and probably a kicker3 or get rid of the kick case altogether and go sammy case, drive shafts etc. looks like a complete build: $3000(lift and s&H) + $1000 (kicker3) + $300 (driveshafts) + $1000 (built toy axels) $1000 (wheels and tires) + ? = $6000 plus for a 4 door lifted sidekick/tracker. i just cant justify putting that kind of cash on a vehicle that is worth less than the lift.

It is all what you want to do with the vehicle. Also if you can weld and have some injunuity you can put toyota's on a side kick for around  $2000 including the axles.

Agreed..

I can find the extra $$$ yet either, BUT it is nice to see a modern design Coil Kit for the masses.

Looking great  waiukea boi .  What gearing are you running?

I love my Trail Slayer kit. It rides better than stock and flexes 5 times better. I will post pictures of mines with the 38 boggers that I put on it now. I am running 5.71 but I am waiting for Brent to come out with that reduction box  ;) ;) ;)

Dual cases (Tracker to Samurai) will give you the same reduction, is available now, gives 2x more final-drive options (Hi-Hi, Hi-Low, Low-Hi, Low-Low), eliminates the slip yoke (so you can drive home of FWD if rear is broken), strengthens the t-case by making it a married setup, and costs the same as what Trail Tough will be charging.

That is true jeremiah, but this is a great option for someone without fab skills or access to someone with fabskills. Add that and a slip yoke eliminator kit and you're good to go! And you can keep that round cross member behind the tracker tcase...

Are there fab skills needed for the Rock Rat or OTT doubler adapter? I thought he did all the work, and it was just a bolt-on thing from there? I've been wrong before  ;D

I would so by this kit hands down!!  Very awesome. BUT its about a grand over what I would try to convince the wife on. LoL. I was hoping to see 2k on the tag, just about to get income tax back and that would be a sick present to myself!
I am most likey gonna end up with a leaf spring setup because I have the needed fab skills and its cheaper.  :(

Looks SICK though
