Warning!    Danger!   This stuff can blow up in your face!  Or worse not work as designed in a crash!

Use this information at your own risk.   I'd rather you get your SRS system repaired professionally.

Airbag repair is not an activity for the backyard mechanic

You cannot use a analog VOM because they send current thru the circuit for testing. This small amount of current will explode the airbag!!

Static electricity and airbags are an Explosive mix!!

The information below may apply to Suzuki Vitara and many other Suzuki models

The SRS light will remain illuminated after 'prove out' if faults or stored fault codes are present.

1 Link terminals using your own jumper wire, (Click here for details), as shown on the diagram.
2 Turn ignition ON.
3 The SRS light should start flashing.
4 Read codes as described in the Code Format Description below.
5 Press the continue button to enter the code numbers and get the code description.

Example Model: Vitara
* This Connector may also be used for other Suzuki models

Tips:
Connector is yellow in color and may have a rubber cap over the end.

Code Format Description

• Each code is made up of two series of flashes.
• The first series indicates the 'tens' digit.
• The second series indicates the 'ones' digit.
• A long pause separates each code.
• A shorter pause separates the 'tens' and 'ones'.
• Code Format Diagram shows code No. 32.
• If only code 12 is flashed out, then there are NO codes in memory.

Erasing SRS Fault Codes

• Turn ignition ON.
• Wait 20 seconds.
• Link the diagnostic terminals 5 times in 10 seconds and disconnect.
• Retest and ensure codes have cleared.
