My list consist of
new rear housing to be armor plated and disc converted

match height in rear for front

shock relocation

rebuilt front

2nd x-fer case

break lines for front/rear

new drive shafts

rebuilt front end

rebuild every thing for axle conversion since original setup is not going to work to my liking.

I'll be doing good to have half of that stuff done.  ::)

Hmm, where to start....
Get my new axle together, with rear disc
Install shocks
replace front 3rd
Run new brake lines, and install another master cylinder
install rear Yota shaft
Oh, put perches on the new rear axle

All this to do, and no welder to do it with. I'm starting a new job @the Chevrolet Stealership in a few more days, and this will eliminate my use of the welder at my current job. I need a welder very badly.  :\\'(

...  but I will be in the Dakota anyway...
I had a '92 Dakota with the 318 that I outfitted with a Gibson exhaust - 3" pipe from the cat to the rear end through the biggest glasspack I've ever seen. I then towed a Mazda 323 from Birmingham to Knoxville with the truck bed loaded and two hefty passengers. Did 60-65 all the way and it stayed in overdrive/lockup almost all the way except for a few hills and going through Chattanooga. I made the trip on one packed tank of gas and got - no, it's the truth - 16.7 MPG. Was the Dak fun to drive? Need you ask? ;D

That thing would haul!

Well, I set a new record today.  Turns out my tranny rebuild kit had the wrong syncro keys, and wasn't properly engaging the brass rings.  So, I could not shift into 1st unless I completely stopped.

Anyway, I pulled it into the shop about 4:00 today, pulled both d-shafts, t-case, and tranny, completely dissassembled the tranny down to an empty case, put it back together, put everything back in the truck, and drove it home at 9:00.

Man that's pretty dang fast. It didn't take too long to do the tranny in my Jeep either though but that's flat out moving.

I managed to get my shafts pulled so now all I gotta do is install the new ones  ;D
