Just checking to see if i'll be the only one that wants to run stock trails. I saw on their site that we are supposed to be in at least a group of 3. Anyone else going to join me? ;D

Last year we had to break the stockers up into 2 groups, because there were so many of them.  You will be in good company  ;D

I will be heading out with a mid level group.  I am set up with 31s, RRO 5" SOA pads and RUF/CJ with a rear locker.  I will not be looking to push the really crazy stuff yet but I am up for some fun.  There will be all levels to choose from.

Depends on your wheeling experience.  If you wheel a lot, and you are very comfortable with your rig, we will set you up with a group that is a little more advanced.

If this is your first time playing in the rocks, we will set you up with a group thats closer to your speed.

My samurai is slightly modified SPUA with CJ rears and a Shackle reversal up front riding on 30"s.  I probably have just shy of 3.5" total lift.  I don't have too much experience (ran gon zookin last year plus one other trip up in August 05) but am already bored on the low greens.  They are really easy - you get your confidence up pretty quick, even straight stockers can handle green ones and two's without much trouble.

I'll be leading a group that will start out on green twos and then go to green threes. I don't want to thrash my truck too much either....  You can ride with me and switch up to a harder group on day two or late day 1 if you want.

We want to keep the groups in single digits this year if we can...

ps. bring a CB if you have it or a fm handheld if you have it so we can talk from the front to back of the line....

Sounds like a good plan tr3ntski,  I would not mind being in your group.  I don't wanna get bored but i still need to drive the rig home.  I have the CB installed already.

Hey Trent.

I'd really like to see your set up. I have a set of 30's i'm going to end up using. I'd like to see how yours fit before I go and do a spoa on mine. Will a straight stock sami make it thru green 3 trails? I can't trash mine either I need to drive it home.

I have a CB mounted in my sami already. I just never got around to dialing it in with the SWRs.

Here is some info on trail ratings http://www.paragonap.com/p_adventure_levels.htm

I have run a stock S-10 on Blue 2 trails.....it is all about how comfortable you are with your rig and how you listen to a spotter if you get into a tight situation.

Well, yes if you take it easy, pick the right line and don't mind a little rubbing underneath!

Stacy totally blew all of our minds at GZ 2005 driving her straight stocker along with our group the whole time, we were all impressed how it did in the park, even on some green 3's. (Of course iI heard it seized up on the way home and has been since rebuilt for this year's event).

Looking forward to hanging out with you guys!

Green 1 =
Green 2 =
Green 3 =
Blue 1 =

 ???
The three greens = Stockers
The three blues = Moderate trails
The three blacks = Heavily modified trails
and my favorite, the Red = Extremely modified trails

Within all the trails (except Red's) there are the three types: Easy, moderate, hard.

So, if you're on a Green 2...For Stock vehicles it will be a moderate trail for ya.  On Green 3 it will be harder for ya.

Again, the trails reflect vehicle ratings, not people ratings.  So, you might have a modified vehicle, but feel that your skill level isn't quite up there yet, try some of the Green trails.  But a stock vehicle getting into some of the Blue 2 trails, might end up being an anchor for the rest of the group.  Be considerate when running trails with the vehicles abilities and or your own that are just not up to the challenge. Leave the ego's by the campfire ;)

Hey Filter,

I'll probably be running the stocker/moderate group.   Im bringing my Fiance' and it's her first time wheeling.  I want her to try the wheel a few times, so the stocker trails are perfect for her.   I'm running a 4 door kick on 31's.    We're using Gonzookin' as "our" vacation, so it'll be low key for us!   We're getting into Hazleton on Thursday night, but we're going to take the hotel route.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and having a blast on the trails!

See you guys on Friday!

Glad everyone is so psyched to get out there, it's going to be a lot of fun!! :D

There will be groups going out at all levels, so everyone should be able to find a group they will be comfortable in.

We'll be meeting in the main parking lot then moving down to staging areas to form our groups. Look for guys in bright orange GZ 2006 STAFF shirts, we'll hook you up with the right group going out.

I can't get the time off for this weekend.  If I was going, I would have tagged along with a few, but still would have hit all the Reds.

Sorry to hear that JP but you gotta pay the bills, we all understand that...

Lots of extra bills when you run the reds too!  Hopefully see you next year out there.
