Try this link http://adaptitusa.com/referencebook.htm to find the bolt pattern for the Samurai then look through the list for others that match like the F-150, up to 1996. The backspacing for the Sammi stock wheel is 2.5".

Wrong on the backspacing. The stock wheels are around 3.5. I can't remember exactly, it's between that and 3.75", though. 2.5" BS is what people put on to widen the wheelbase and keep tires from rubbing. Tracker BS is even more, around 4", but you can get stock Tracker/Sidekick wheels in 16", both steel and aluminum. Actually, I think it was the Sidekick/XL-7/Grand Vitara that had 16s.

Look for old Jeep wheels.  Lots of late 60's/early 70's Heeps had 16" wheels.

All of the Jeepster Commando's came with a 6.00-16 tire.

My bad on the backspacing. I had read so much about needing 2.5", that I thought it was the stock backspacing needed to retain a good turning radius.

Due to the 108mm center hub bore, your options are limited unless going aftermarket. Here is another wheel size cross reference link http://www.roadkillcustoms.com/hot-rods-rat-rods/Wheel-Bolt-Pattern-Cross-Reference-Database.asp?LugCount=5&StudSpreadInch=5.5&StudSpreadMM=. Only the '98 and later Suzuki's have a stock 16" wheel that matches the center bore and bolt pattern according to this.

Most Vitaras around here are 16", I actually am rolling on 16x6.5 rims (wheels) with custom 2..25" backspacing.  They are easily found and cheap and work perfectly for the samy.

Here's a list I put together for 17-18" wheels but I would say majority of them also came in 16.

I don't care about style but which ones are practical off road rims?

if you don't care about style go with steel rims. You can always hammer then back into shape
