I need some help please. Will i be able to use driveshafts from an 86' yota truck on my samurai? Of course with some customizing if possible. I know that rockrat makes yolk adapters for yota driveshafts to samurai axles but wanna know if its worth getting the driveshafts.

I can get the driveshafts for free. The front shaft looks a little short for a samurai maybe use in the rear idk? The front shaft has the double u-joint (cv style) and the rear is looooong and is just a regular driveshaft but is bigger and more heavy duty.

Is it worth getting the driveshafts?

Also i can get the power steering pump and gear box with a drop pitman arm from the same yota for free.

Do you think ill be able to use these items?

I wish it was an 85' to use the axles but its IFS. Thanks in advance guys.

Sounds like a dream come true.
- Yes the yota CV drive shaft will work for the rear on the sammy, its better for yota rear's that don't have off set rear dif's. Helps with the compound angles.
- Yes you can use the rear yota drive shaft as well, you will just need to shorten it. Cheaper to shorten something you have that n buy new.
-Yes you can use the IFS PS Box and pump. There a few builds that used the yots PS pump.

Do some searches for all three questions you'll see most builds used what you can get.  I love my IFS PS, and my yota shafts are spares for when I brake one.

I will post the links to the builds I read before diving head first into the swap.

Yes you can mount the ifs pump and box to the samurai. The Toyota box is stronger that a Geo box. If this makes your life any easier i am selling a bracket that i made that will allow you to mount the Toyota pump and bracket to your 1.3 motor. This will save you time. I ran that setup for 2 years before swapping to the 16v motor. Which required me to make a different bracket. let me know if your interested

you can run hydro assist also with the IFS box. Just tap it and run your lines. You def found a gem there to get all that for FREE!!!!!!!!!!! Even if you couldnt use it, someone else could, so you can sell it and use that cash to buy some junk you could use. lol Remember, one man's junk is another man's treasure.

If you have the yota shafts great. But I ran into an angle problem right away with the CV. Needed to modify the ball to get more angle... in the end that didn't work either. After doing some research I found out that the 3gen yota 4runner rear shaft can handle a 42degree angle... Which is a decent amount of angle.

Now I'm running a centered rear yota pick up diff. So angle was a real concern for me. Lift is SPOA RUF yotas 3rd gen drive shafts in the front and the rear of the zuk.

This season is the YJ's and these shafts will still work... just consider them and if the other shafts work fantastic!!

Also... I have the IFS yota powersteering setup that just kicks [censored]!!! BEST MOD EVER!!! One finger turning. If you want some photos let me know I can post them up for you. Super easy and would recommend this steering over any other out there. Well an FJ60 box would have been nicer but hey... I fell into an IFS box first. SO DO IT!! It is only steel and tin your working with ;)

Stuff for your Power Steering pump:

GM Pump - This kit allows you to run the cheap and powerful bead busting GM 4x4 Saginaw P series power steering pump on your Samurai http://urbanrockcrawler.com/product.sc?categoryId=7&productId=20

Tusker used yota pump - http://bbs.zuwharrie.com/content/topic,17293.0.html

I used PSC Pump on IFS Box, Love it. PSC sells bracket too..

There was a step by step build of the Toy Pump Bracket and how he made it all line up and work. I'll find it and post it for you. If I remember correctly there was no welding involved. He used to stock Toy Pump bracket and bolted it to a plate he built for his engine block. He just used spacers to level the plate before bolting the PS Bracket on. The only cost was swapping the V-Bely pulley to Serpentin from Trail Tough.

I can't find the build I was looking for that shows his bracket,  but its not to hard to figure out.  Sorry about all the posting, just had spinal surgery. Sitting on my A- - all day is driving me crazy.
