I'm going to be installing a tracker power steering setup on my Sammi.  I'm just wondering if I can remove the pitman arm and recenter it or if the cut of the splines only allow it to go on in one fixed position.  I've got a buddy with a press that I'll be visiting if I can.  :)

Thanks.

Back around 2000 I used a CHev Tie rod press / puller from the Auto ZOne loan a tool.

THe pitman arm tool was WAY too big.

Yeah, they make a smaller version labeled as a tire rod/compact car pitman arm puller.  I've got one of each of those.  Broke one of the prongs off of the smaller one while pulling the pitman arm off of my sammi this summer and still wound up having to saw it to pieces to get it off (tried everything but explosives to get that thing off).  I'm going to take this one down to my buddy's shop and use his hydraulic press.  I just wanted to see if you can re-install it in a different position before I went to that trouble or if it will only go on in one specific position.
