I'm wondering if this is like Ford's infamous cruise control catching on fire, where the TSB states they will cover the cost of the part and labor.

Here's the link to the vent tube for those that might not know..

I don't want to pay 20 bucks for that little thing!

I bought one of those a while back and it didn't seem to do anything to help.  Get a My-side...now that made a good difference.

Yep, it's the carb they run on harley's. A lot of people love them on sammy's.

I'd be sold on it if it truly ups the mpg.  How noticeable is the change in acceleration from a stop to highway speed?  It must also get rid of the rats nest of vacuum lines too.. that would be nice.

It will definately get rid of the rats nest of vacuum lines. Can't really tell you much on the rest because I don't run one. Do know that most people buy the cv carb used off ebay. Apparenlty they are much easier to tune than most carbs. Also, if you have the skills, you can pretty much fab everything up yourself, but if you don't(like me) buying from myron at ZOR is a great way to get great help and customer support.

Do a search for my-side, cv carbs, harley carbs, and their is a ton of info on this board about them.

It ups it some.  The main gain is the acceleration.  Top end can be pretty good too if you get the fuel delivery right.   ;)

I noticed a big difference...never bothered to measure or time it, but it was definately noticable.  Yup, noticable improvement in acceleration.  I equate it to "feeling like you're gonna get run off the freeway" to "just about able to keep up with most of the traffic." ;D

Haha I know what you mean by that feeling.  I've specially plotted out a special route which I loaded into my GPS for when I will bring the truck home.  It avoids all freeways, except for the first 20 miles which are required to get out of Minneapolis.  Total time will be about 8 hours instead of 5, but it's the same distance!  Should be some better scenery also.  ;D

Oh, and by the way I'm going to see if I can order that vent tube through the Suzuki dealership with the part number I found so hopefully I won't have to pay shipping.  The cheapest online I found was 9 bucks for the part and 8 bucks shipping... ridiculous.

North Dakota, huh?  That sounds like a LONG drive!  I love my Samurai but you probably won't be too thrilled after 8 hours.

Have you tried Aftermarket 4x4 or Low Range Offroad for the vent tube?  They will ship by USPS and it shouldn't cost anywhere near $8 to stick it in an envelope.

Aftermarket 4x4 charges $14.99 before shipping, where I can just get the part for $15.00 through the local Suzuki dealership.  I couldn't find the part through Low Range Offroad though.

And yup, it will be a long ride.

BTW, are there any MN/ND guys on the board here?  I don't see a section on other forums called "Midwest" where people post up for meet & greets and such.

Hey, I'm in Minnesota...  South central but still in Minnesota.

Lots of Suzuki people in the state.  Check out the 4x4 club here in Minnesota which has mostly Suzuki enthusiasts including Mike Hagen...   http://www.rpm4x4.com/

You guys look a little bit hardcore for me lol.  :P

That's cool that there's people at least somewhat close.  Know any good trails in the western part of the state?  Or up north?  I'm in Grand Forks btw.
