Anyone know what this hose is for (red arrow)?  Is there suppossed to be any restriction in there?  I don't understand how the PCV system works.???

Yep that's the PCV system. The PCV valve is at the bottom end of the hose. It threads right into the intake manifold.

I'm not sure what that tube is but there's no restriction in there at all. I bought a new PCV and it goes in another hole in the valve cover closer to the front of the engine (not in view in the pic).
