Need Santa's Helpers

Last year we had a really successful Santa's Helper program on this board to give a helping hand to our friends on here that needed a little help to ensure their kids had a good great Christmas morning.  Not only did the ones who received gifts benefit, but those of us that gave presents received a gift of their own. The joy of giving/helping another was without a doubt the best present I got last year.

It is time again to ask those who need a little help this year to send me a pm with what their kids are hoping for or at least the names and ages so the elves can go out and get some gifts. I will also need your address so the elves can mail the gifts. This has been a hard year for a lot of zuwharrie members. If Santa is going to have a hard time making it to your house, send me a pm now, don't wait. And do NOT feel embarrassed or too proud to ask for help! I'll keep it only on the pm side of the board. 

Last year I assigned elves to individual kids at first and then when we had more elves than kids, we doubled or tripled up on kids/families. Then toward the end, I got some last minute kids and had to go back and ask for a little more elf power, so be prepared for that. Also some elves decided to take care of the entire family.

So, I also need elves. If you still have a job that pays decent, count yourself lucky and please consider participating this year. 

Let's see, 99% of the questions I got last year were price limits on both the asking/receiving end. All I can say is don't go crazy.  Even if an elf can only afford is a few stocking stuffers, I encourage you to still participate. Several people sent gift cards if you just don't know what to give or if we want to pool resources so Santa can get one bigger gift (usually for the older kids' presents).

Hey guys, my new work schedule is going to be taking me to a bunch of places where I might not have Internet access so I am going to hand this event coordination to Connie, BerryBlonde. Send her your pms. I have forwarded the requests I have gotten so far.

Also, please don't be worried or ashamed. We ALL hit hard times and sometimes we all need a hand. Anything that is sent to Connie will remain with her and only necessary info to get the presents to the families will be passed. Let us help you make your kids Christmas better if we can! It helps us all in the end!

Yes we did... and had a ball doing it.  It was truly a family event, and we even agreed to cut back on the stuff we bought for each other so that we could give a little "extra".

Geoff learned a valuable lesson last year, and even bought stuff with his own money.  He asked if we were going to do it again this year.

 If you bring someone to Connie's attention she will not tell them who put the bug in her ear. We just want to help those who need us!
