Im trying to find a 1.6 turbo diesel. Ive done alot of looking on the net and I have to say its become quite a challeging to find. Any suggestions?

Have your local shop order a wholesale long block from Overland Mfg in Gilroy CA. Brand new complete, somewhere around $2k.
Get on vwdiesel.net to shop used/rebuilders various locations. Somebody out of Salt Lake City had a couple used engines for sale recently.  And somebody in New England had a couple.
