After much discussion among the staff we have decided to make Zuwharrie a once a year event. The November 09 event will be the last fall event. We appreciate the support we've had over the years and this decision was not made lightly. An event this size takes months of planning and countless ours to carry out. Imagine the time it takes to plan a family vacation and then think about what it takes to carry that out for 2-300 people. We've had some major staff changes and the staff onboard now just doesn't have the ability to devote the time it takes to plan and carry out two events. Over the years the event has grown and due to the real world lives of the staff we can no longer handle the amount of time and work it takes to host two a year. While past events have gone well, we don't feel like we've been able to provide you with the best event we could have because of time constraints on the staff. We will continue to plan and carry out a spring event each year until you folks stop coming!
We understand that this may keep some folks from making it to every event but we really don't have a choice in this.
We feel that changing to one annual official event will make it better for everyone, our sponsors will find it easier to support one event instead of two, and we can concentrate our efforts into making the event bigger and better than ever.
We will also continue to carry out and attend non-offical events like Zunami and clean up days at Uwharrie.
We hope you will continue to support the event and Zuwharrie.com. Feel free to post any questions here or PM me here on the board and I'll do my best to answer.

Actually not a bad idea in my Opinion.

Even though I love the 2 event per year thing. Just like R/T said ........ this will allow the event to be bigger and better and also this helps the vendors out during this hard time.

LOL........ Just don't take Zunami away LOL !!  ;D

Very understandable. I ran a Zookin event one year, a less than 100 person local event, and it was very time consuming. Jim

I completely understand the decision the staff has made and want to thank you guys for all the hours and hours of work you have put in over the years to make these events happen!

THANK YOU ALL for everything and we will see you in November at the LAST official FALL ZUWHARRIE!!

I have helped at a few of the older events...  :o I understand the hard work that goes into such an undertaking. I will happily support the event and the staff. You folks have a gargantuan task and tackle it with grace. Bravo!

:(  Understood, but will be missed. I want to thank all of you for what you have done over the years (putting up with me mostly!) and let you know that this is not something that you willingly wanted to do, but rather, something that really had to be done. My very first event was in the spring and I guess it's only fitting that it should continue that way. :)  THANKS!

It sucks, But I understand. The stress in holding such an event can be tough.
Maybe  some of the Zuwharrie group could still hold smaller get togethers on our own at other times over the year and possibly the staff could come to one of those and just sit back and enjoy the time without all the work. [idea]

I think this will actually be better for attendance because it places more priority on the event. If you got 2 chances a year you might shoot for spring, miss it and say "there's always fall." Then things come up and you miss fall. With just one a year more people will work harder to get there, regardless of season.

Another good decision from Zuwharrie Off-Road Events, LLC.

As said above "Thank You All" for what you do for this site and the events.

Im like some of the others on here I think this is a good thing.
It should make the event even bigger with more people.
Though I do hope I can make this fall event so I can say I was at "The Last" fall gathering.

Thanks to the complete Zu staff for all ya ll do and have done.
One suggestion is  please don't plan it for the middle of the summer. Just my opinion. I can bring as many blankets as it takes, but don't have AC when it's 90 at 9:30 at night.
Thanks again

That shouldn't be a problem, we plan on keeping it the spring. Typically we hold the spring events in April, we will be keeping it right around then.  :)

Well, small change of plans. I didn't really pay attention to the fact that it was being held on Nov. 6th. That's my anniversary and I will be with my wife on that weekend. [worried]  I'm not sad that I won't be there with you guys, I love my wife and want to spend a special weekend with her, but I do hope that you all have a good and safe time there without me. :)

I wish we could make it but it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to get the days off...it's getting into the busy season at work for us....draggin Dee and Jake, 3 dogs and a trailer 5 hrs each way would make for a bit too much for just one night..... :(

After spending all morning on the phone with our vendors asking for fall raffle donations things look great . It will be a lot easier for them to support one event more fully vs two .  It looks like there might be a few new vendors coming on board to donate too .

There could be a Zulite for next fall , call it a throwback event where we just camp and wheel . No official anything , just a fun get together .

This might be a good opportunity for some to make the trek north for GonZookin and get a chance to wheel some different terrain, and meet some new people.

We already get a lot of guys coming up from the VA beach area, it would be great to have some of the Carolina crew as well.

And I don't want to hear any of you say "it's too far of a drive"... this will be my 14th trip to visit y'all at the Zu  ;D
