Just figure I'd post up my pride.  My niece (god-daughter) is currently at Parris Island.  She's made it through 1st phase and is gunning (pun intended) for rifle expert.  This is the 5th Marine in the family so far.

Thanks guys.  She's on the rifle range now, so if she has listened to what she has been taught about shooting she'll do well.  She graduates at the end of October.

Just a quick update.  Friday is the big day.  She made it through and I'll proudly be out in the stands on Friday.  Can't wait.

Take lots of pictures and go to family day.  I really enjoyed it and it was the best military ceremony I have ever been to.

It looks like there will be at least 5 cameras and 3 video cameras there.  Can't quite make the family day, but then again I'm pretty sure she wants to spend that day with mom and dad.  My sister in law is bouncing off the walls rite now.  You'd figure with me and her husband both being in for so long she'd be used to it. ;D  That's her baby, I wish my dad were alive to see his first grandchild graduating from PI.

My wife cared NOTHING about the military until her son joined the Marines.  Me and him were in Iraq the same time and she STILL says he was in more danger than me the whole time. ::)  He was an aviation electroinics repairman so he didnt do convoy while my unit did.

I hated convoys more than anything over there.

It was fun to go to family day in my 1st. SGT uniform.  I have never and will never get so much respect from my son again. ;D ;D

Mission accomplished.  Definately not the little girl that left 3 months ago.
