If I can scrape up the dough, I will go. ;D  That's my only obstacle.  Hopefully in a year I can make it happen.  I just wish Lion's Back was still open.  :(

That's what I'm afraid of.  :)

I figured that was about the steepest, scariest thing that I know of that I felt fairly confident I could get up/down.  That and it's just one of those famous things, you know.  I got to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but my Grandfather got to go up to the top of it in WWII.  Just not the same.  ;D

I'm hoping the dates fall earlier than later...late april or early may....?

Haven't been out there for almost 20 years...camped right on the Colorado just out of town last time. Swan across and back...sure looked a lot closer!
A definite high point.

I think it's private property and the owners shut it down.

The Rock is Still Clearly Visable.

The Owners of the Property Never Claimed to "Own" Lion's Back. They Owned the Property that Accessed it. Probably a liability thing.  ;)

The Property had been For Sale for years. It has been Sold. I'm not sure of the New Owner's intentions. Last time I was there, April '09, it didn't look like they have done too much with it yet.

It just looks like the Property is Gated/Fenced Off.

I don't know if they will Develope it for Camping/Recreation or Housing of some sort.

The launch pad is steeper. Lion's back was a cool ride though.
